My bike was "borrowed"/"appropriated" this year.

Does anyone have AUTHORITATIVE info on what happened
to bikes found on the playa after the event
this year?

There are a lot of rumors; please only post if
you did the actual work or talked with someone
who did!

There are SO many lost bikes on the "lost" thread
but not a single response! It would help us all...

I've been scouring the BM website and cannot find
something explaining what happens to bikes that
were found after the event this year.

I found this report about what happened after BM2003:

but nothing authoritative about 2004.

I tried mailing lostandfound@burningman.com, no response.

Is my bike already given to charity?

Will it reappear in San Francisco if, as I suspect, some
stoned raver "moved" it to a random location for me?

Next year I will certainly put my camp location on my
bike, and use the lock more often.
